- Tried to demo Mogulus in ISN staff meeting this morning. Network connection was horribly erratic, and it didn’t go too well… #
- I need to get my hands on my coworker Mike’s Clear WiMAX stick, and try it over that. #
- In keeping with my resolution not to use IE unless I must, I’m documenting when I do. Like now: downloading Windows 7 beta ISO from MSDN. #
- Palm’s having an event at CES right now, annoucing Palm WebOS and a new iPhone-clone device called the Pre. Woo! http://live.gdgt.com #
- Wow. This is just embarrassing for Palm. I mean, even the ICONS on the Pre look like the iPhone. How blatant can you get?
# - Interesting that the Palm Pre is a CDMA/EVDO device. So I guess if you’re stuck on Verizon/Sprint, and don’t want a BlackBerry, it’s nice. #
- Apps for the new Palm WebOS and Pre are written in HTML, javascript, etc., so the whole OS is essentially a web runtime, like Chrome. Right? #
- I think I have to agree with @ryanblock and others: Palm is back. Not on top, but definitely back in the game. Android and RIM watch out! #
- But then they (Palm) go and do something boneheaded like telling Scoble to stop his video stream. http://tinyurl.com/92ozqy Dumb. #
- @Jmartens Check out http://live.gdgt.com. @ryanblock is running an awesome liveblog of the event with tons of great pics. in reply to Jmartens #
- The Palm webOS browser looks pretty slick. Matches Mobile Safari in most features, on the surface. The big question: can it do Flash? #
- Palm says this is the first smartphone with TI’s new processor, with “laptop-like” performance. I don’t buy it if it won’t run Flash. #
- I wonder what the limits of Palm webOS are, when every app is a tab and the whole OS is a browser? What closes when RAM runs out? #
- And how do you write a background app in webOS when you’re writing in HTML, CSS, and javascript? #
- Has to have a layer below the “web” part of the OS, for stuff like the phone, SMS, etc. Will devs get to access that, or is it off limits? #
- Headed to Corvallis to speak at the @saocorvallis event there tonight. Hope the weather’s OK on the way. I’ve had enough weather drama.
# - Retweeting @saocorvallis: @jabancroft at the @SAOCorvallis Tech Pub meeting tonight at 5:30 at Iovinos! (via @protherj) in reply to protherj #
- Arrived in Corvallis. Weather was gorgeous, happily. A little early for @saocorvallis, thinking I should eat first. #
- I passed like 4 indie bookstores in downtown Corvallis on my way in. I like this place already.
# - Uh oh. I am WAY underdressed for this @saocorvallis thing. Of course, I’m underdressed for almost everything.

- Failbot! Kept trying to tweet from Tweetie, kept erroring, then I saw our friends Failbot and Failbird on the site. I miss the whale. #
- @saocorvallis talk was GREAT. What a cool town. Thanks for the warm welcome, and letting me talk your ears off for an hour and a half!
