- Ugh. Not feeling well today. Started last night. Woozy. May not make it through the day…
# - @rachelbancroft I had a good breakfast. Well, a chicken biscuit from McDonalds.
But I can tell my body definitely needs real, good food. # - @hangry The phrase “for the love of toast” is a staple in our vocabulary. I don’t really know where it came from, but even Emma uses it.
# - @turoczy We tried to take care of the place while you and @kveton were gone. Some ruffians showed up for #isf yesterday, but are behaving OK #
- @JoshProStar You can use Twitter from the Kindle – just go to m.twitter.com in the browser. In practice, it’s kind of slow. Emergencies only #
- @macfixer I had a Twitter emergency when I bought my new iPhone, and it deactivated my old one. Had to use my Kindle to tweet/stay connected #
- @AaronTersteeg I still read your tweets 5 by 5, 10-4, good buddy, over and out.
# - Feeling somewhat better, but now I’m faced with finding something good for lunch, when I have no appetite. #
- In case you were wondering, the Amazon Kindle DOES charge over USB: http://tinyurl.com/6buvme #
- Here’s how Amazon can deal with the iPhone “threat” to the Kindle: make a Kindle app for the iPhone. You heard it here first.
# - @jschultz There are already two great ebook apps for the iPhone – eReader and Stanza. Stanza can read Mobi books, but not Kindle books… #
- What I’m thinking of is a Kindle iPhone app that’s tied to your Amazon account, can download and read the books you buy from Amazon, etc. #
- There’s absolutely no reason Amazon couldn’t do a Kindle iPhone app right now, if they wanted to. But only Amazon can do it, because of DRM. #
- @RichSPK You’re right, Kindle would have the advantage of the bigger, eInk screen, and battery life. Those can be reasons to upsell!
# - And why stop at the iPhone? Why not make a Kindle Reader app for Mac, Windows, Linux, etc. The .AZW format is just Mobi + DRM. This is easy. #
- @SarahCofer Interesting idea. Ping me after next week (after OSCON)? Would love to talk more about it. #
- @bobduffy There’s already a cloud site for people to buy, rate, and discuss Kindle books – http://amazon.com/kindle.
# - @bobduffy iPhone + eReader (which is also on every other platform) is great for books. I bought dozens of books from them before my iPhone. #
- @cvelis You know that you can hide individual items, or all items of a type in FriendFeed, right? Never see, say, Twitter posts if you want. #
- @segphault Shozu is a killer photo uploader app for Windows Mobile. I loved it. Or you could upload via email straight to Flickr. #
- @bobduffy Are you talking about “Friend of a Friend” stuff? You can hide all of that. #
- @bobduffy @cvelis You do have FriendFeed to send comments (optionally) to Twitter also, right? #
- @cvelis I’m still working on my Grand Unified Tubes Theory of the Internet. It keeps getting bigger. Which makes it harder to write.
# - @bobduffy Um, unsubscribe from those people? Choose to hide everything from them? Or are you talking about comments? That’s what you WANT
# - Just added my FriendFeed “Likes” and “Comments” to my linkblog: http://linkblog.joshbancroft.com. Check it out for my commentary on the news #
- @lauriegbuczek The CIO scheduled a 5PM meeting on a Friday? That should be an offense punishable by… Something equally horrible.
# - @jmoriarty They don’t need sleep. I heard they’re cyborgs. They keep managing. And they’ll NEVER STOP! Not until we’re all 100% on our MBOs! #
- @segphault Yes, I’ll be at OSCON all week (except Monday). We should definitely meet up! #
- Want to see Dark Knight tonight, but I hate crowded, noisy theaters. Maybe I’ll see Hancock instead, catch Dark Knight another time. #
- Ended up seeing Dark Knight. It was SUPERB. Dark, twisty, unpredictable, and long (in a good way – I didn’t want it to end). Go see it.
# - I’d never seen any of Heath Ledger’s other movies, and I kind of figured the posthumous Oscar talk was just hype, but he deserves it 4 Joker #
