- OK, I guess it’s time for me to venture out in search of food, then head over to pick up my SXSW badge. Should I take my laptop? #
- @giovanni Thanks. I was thinking should I bring it for the rest of the day, but thinking I’ll leave it behind/locked up. #
- Feels weird to be on Central time. It’s 11:30AM local, 9:30 on my home time. But it feels like its 4 in the afternoon. Weird. #
- In the SXSW badge pickup line. Quite the operation. #
- There’s an amazing amount of crap in the SXSW schwag bag. Luckily, there are tables where you can dump/recycle the stuff you don’t want. #
- Sad to say, but I feel naked and bored without my laptop. Headed back to my room to drop off schwag, get it, then back for panels. #
- Played Guitar Hero 3 with Bruno from Northeastern U. He runs their TV station, and "Welcome to the Jungle" on Expert was no problem for him. #
- Going to Amy Hoy’s "Career rev 342" panel instead of the "SXSW 101 for n00bs" panel.
# - SXSW celeb sightings: passed @chrisbrogan and Phillip Torrone on the escalator within minutes of each other. #
- @geekygirldawn be warned, the badge line is ENORMOUS.
# - Dear John Athayde: please do not chew gum, or sunflower seeds, or whatever it is you’re eating while you’re presenting to us. Thanks, SXSW. #
- "When you can’t kick any more asses, because there are no more asses to kick, your foot is really sad!" - Amy Hoy #
- "If you’re full of crap, and don’t know you’re full of crap, you’re a danger to yourself and others." - Amy Hoy #
- I’ve never seen as high a concentration of Macs and iPhones in one place. This is significant. #
- Ran in to @turoczy and @tlockney, in search of beverages. #
- @kveton how’s the line? Any better than a while ago, when it was ginormous?
# - In the "Battledecks II" session. Presenters compete, talking about slides they’ve never seen before. Sounds like fun.
# - @tlockney oh crap. How embarrassing. Not only did I mistake you, I mistook the guy with @turoczy, too. Sorry!
# - @Adamd its just starting, but I also am intrigued by the "blind Ignite" idea. Its like if we switched everyone’s slides!
# - OK, BattleDecks is going to be awesome. Energy in the room is hot. We need this in Portland - you heard it here first!
# - Competitors include Jon Armstrong and Anil Dash. I can’t wait! #
- @ellybabes totally understand. How you come back next week!
# - @rachelbancroft Twitter hugs for you. Hang in there, and have some N&Ms. #
- First bacon reference of SXSW! Bonus points for being on a slide with Mike Arrington.
# - @anildssh just pwned Battledecks. #
- So, where’s everyone going for dinner? #
- @geekygirldawn Where are you going for dinner? @ or d me, I’ll come. #
- @geekygirldawn I’m on my way.
# - Dinner at Iron Cactus with @geekygirldawn, @adamd, and @mattbeck was yummy. #
- @ejacqui I know! That big flock of birds at Brush Park is… Strange. And noisy after dark! Have you gone to the Bat Viewing Area? #
- You know, it’s only a matter of time before we see live video streaming apps, like Qik, for the iPhone. I can’t wait! #
- In desperate need of something sweet. Anyone know of something in the Hilton, or within a block or two? #
- @clint Dude, I’m a party weenie. Wimp. Pansy.
# - Crap. Coffee place is closed. Restaurant is closed. And the Hilton bar is a zoo. No dessert for me!
Hanging in the lobby for a while. # - @danielpunkass What are the chances of us ever seeing MarsEdit for iPhone? I’d pay for that!
# - Just ran into Rex Hammock (@r) and his son. He introduced me as "the guy who runs Intel.". Heh.
# - In case you HAVEN’T had enough of me tweeting about SXSW, here’s a post with photos and thoughts on Day Zero: http://tinyurl.com/yssjkn #
