I have had the 8525 for about 2 months, on AT&T 450 min and unlimited data plan. Works great for email. I have the spb pocket plus application, it allows icons on the today screen (just like windows) it also has a task manager so you can actually close an application or just minimize it. I also use MobiTV that came with it, with 3g you get streaming live TV and its great. I also have a 2gb SD card which fits about 4 movies on it and tons of pics and music. I love the pullout keyboard it makes emailing much easier on the go, and also editing word and excel docs easy. I dont think it is to thick at all, just the right size.

I do, a Plantronics 510. Works fine.

I highly recommend Boxwave screen protectors. I'm using an aluminum case I got (search 8525 case on Amazon), but I'm not entirely happy with it - the "door" on it opens easily, and my phone has fallen out onto the floor several times. I'm thinking of going to egrips, which I've used in the past, and loved.

Hope that helps! :-)

Thanks for the info Josh.

Do you use a Bluetooth headset with the 8525?

Also, I was looking into buying some screen protectors and a case of some sort. I look forward to your recommendations.

Thanks,

Joe.

If you use Shozu, and want to turn your phone into a mobile copier & fax machine, you'd want to give qipit a try as they are one of the destinations for ShoZu.

Give it a try, it is free.

I still love it, and recommend it. As long as you know what you're getting in to (it's Windows Mobile, so you have to reboot it once in a while, and it's not tiny), you'll love it. The fast data connection (HSDPA/UMTS) is awesome. There's lots of good WM software - I highly recommend WIndows Live Search ( wls.live.com) or Google Maps for Mobile (google.com/gmm), and Shozu is a great app for camera/video publishing. Scanr is a great service for scanning business cards and documents, no software needed (just take a photo and email it to them), and comvu.com has Pocketcaster, which lets you stream video live from your phone to the Internet.

Hi Josh,

I am interested in an update from you about this phone. I'd like to purchase one but wanted to check with you to see if you are still happy with it. Any annoyances or issues? Is there any must have accessories or 3rd party software?

Any insight would be just swell.

Thanks.

A little tip for all you who what this phone without the huge data plan price. If you get the Smartphone Connect Unlimited you get the same speeds at a more reasonable price of only 19.99 a month. I switched to it a while ago and there is no difference in the performance. The only catch is that it only works on Windows Mobile Devices. However since the 8525 is a windows mobile device..... you are good to go. Just thought I would pass the savings on to the rest of you. Have a good one.

It's really a thick one, isn't it? I do not envy your new gadget... I envy your 3G and your really affordable data plans.
My Qtek S200 also has a 2 MP camera with that macro key, it gives some utility in PDAphone cameras... now I do not copy notes and papers with relevant information... I photograph them!

Question: what's the difference between 8525 and TyTN? They look the same!

P.S.: Emma is really a piece of cute. I love her appearences. And the "Microsoft Phone" quote was quite funny, she will soon be *writing* review with her dad...
