Yeah, I might end up going the Craigslist route. They're not too much over retail, if you're patient. I actually saw a lady selling one "used" (they had it for a week) for $200. The listing was only 15 minutes old, and the next time I refreshed, it was gone. Someone must have snapped that up right quick!

After "making the rounds" near Washington Square for about a week, I finally broke down about a month ago and bought one from a guy on Craigslist for $25 over retail... Not nearly as bad as the guys charging $100 over + shipping on eBay. I've heard that Target and Toys R Us usually get big wads on Sunday morning, but that's probably as much a non-option for you as it was for me.

On the extra controllers- a coworker and I both ordered them directly fom Nintendo parts and had them within 2 days (shipped from Redmond). Cost + $5 shipping (total, not per-piece), not a bad deal. I bought two extra remotes and nunchuks from Nintendo- figuring I'll round out the set when WiiPlay is out.

Good luck on your hunt! Expect dirty looks from the wife when you spend too long playing Zelda (and this from the "non-gamer" that I am).

I got my wii at the target on TV Hwy a few weeks ago. I paid $1.99 for itrackr notification and it was well worth it, although if I wouldn't have checked email in the middle of the night (new baby woke me up) I wouldn't have got it. Went down to the store about 1/2 before they opened and there were 7 people there waiting to get in the store. First 3 guys in line were from Intel too. They had 12 in stock that morning so we all got one. If I've seen any pattern it seems they come in stock on the weekends. I suspect sometimes they have them in stock and hold them for Sunday because there are times when itrackr says there is inventory but none is out on the shelf.

I got my extra controllers at Freddies and they happened to have a bunch that day. I also saw a PS3 at Freddies back when they were still pretty hard to get so it worth checking there in case you decide not to let itrackr do the work for you. I think Freddies is under the radar as far as the notification services goes so sometimes they stick around a bit longer there. Hope this helps.

BTW, love my Wii.

Not sure about where to get a Wii in Portland, but I do know that extra controllers are really hard to find as well. You might want to consider pre-ordering the Wii Play game that comes out on the 13th. For 50 bucks you get a remote and 9 mini games. The remote alone would cost you 40 bucks. Ordering the Wii Play so far is the only way that I have been able to get a 2nd remote since all the stores never seem to have them in stock.
