Question: I am looking for an answer. Does it have the feature so you can imprint the date and year on the pictures using the SD700?

Brent, I love it so far, and would recommend any of the Canon SD series without hesitation.

Based on the research I did, you'll want to make sure that the extra features in the SD700 (namely, Image Stabilization and 4x optical zoom) are worth the extra price compared to the other Canon SD ultracompact models that can be had for much cheaper.

It seems that each model in the Canon SD line has it's main "feature" that distinguishes it from its brethren: the SD700 has IS and 4x optical zoom. The SD630 has a whopping 3 inch LCD. The SD430 has WiFi. The SD500 is 7 megapixels.

From what I've read and seen, though, besides those main features, the cameras are mostly the same. So choose wisely, and a good deal can probably be had.

Or, if you're like me, and want all the extra features, go for the big daddy SD700.

Stay tuned for lots more pics from it - Gnomedex starts tomorrow night! :-)

Hey Josh, I was reading your post and got a call from my wife. She is at the beach with the kids for a few days and she dropped my Powershot SD400 in a tide pool. So let me know how you like the SD700 as I'm now in the market :)
