I’ve been bad. I’ve been running on WordPress 1.5 for a long time. Long after 2.0 was released. I kept meaning to upgrade, but never got around to it.

Today, I finally did. It was incredibly simple. I spent way more time on the database backup/precautionary procedures, in case something went wrong, than I did on the actual upgrade. It took, literally, seconds.

Thanks and kudos to Matt Mullenweg and crew for such an awesome tool! Now I’m an even bigger WordPress fan.

EDIT: I’m also playing around with the theme, and the newly released WordPress Widgets, so the appearance of the site might change over the next few days. If you’re reading via the feed, you won’t even notice.

What do you mean by wordpress widgets? Do you mean plugins?

Widgets are new to WordPress, different from plugins. It’s basically an AJAXy way to put things on your side bar, rather than editing the PHP theme files manually. Still messing around with it…

yeah, I just got around to updating about 2 days ago myself, so you’re not alone! Being able to add categories/tags on the fly was what finally did it for me

I have that Fastmac adapter, and use it with my iPhone. It’s great for keeping the inline controls/mic, but using any headphones you want. #

OK, so Gmail isn’t down. I can access it (web and IMAP) on my phone. So I think I’m suffering one of those “work proxy hates Gmail SSL” bits #
@pdxjdangel Yes, I was the one. On the Wii, GH:WT is the most compatible option. Instruments work with all GH games, and RB2 (not RB1, tho). #
So, Gmail Contacts and GCal now sync to the iPhone via Exchange ActiveSync. Anyone tried syncing a desktop client that way? Say, Outlook? #
