I tried Skweezer and Google's page translator, but they had issues. They wouldn't handle cookies correctly, so I was either having to re-login all the time, or it would revert to the "full" version of the page with frames, etc. There were performance issues with both, too - feeds took longer to load in Bloglines Mobile, though this is understandable because of the page translation that has to happen.

I still wish for this functionality baked right in to Bloglines Mobile...

Great minds think alike :-)

I've created a page that does exactly this by combining the Bloglines web services API and the Google mobile content reformatter.

You can try it by pointing your mobile browser at http://thebogles.com/showfeeds.py and logging in using your bloglines credentials.

More details are available here:

[...] I completely agree with Joshs request for mobile formatting of Bloglines mobile links. I do most of my blog reading on the train via Bloglines mobile on my Treo, probably around 70-80% of it. At this point Bloglines is by far the best (only?) option when it comes to seemlessly integrating the mobile space with the full blown PC interface. Unfortunetly I often find myself in the same boat, wondering if the link is going to be good enough to click and suffer through the pain of reading a page intended for the big screen, on the wee one. A feature like Josh suggests would be a huge improvement to the experience. I’ve toyed with the idea of piping all my traffic through a proxy running on my home server to do conversion for me - but let’s face it, I don’t have the time to set it up. Besides with all the services out there that do this already, I shouldn’t have to roll my own.So yes, I think this would be a FANTASTIC idea. [...]
