Thursday when I took the day off for our anniversary, Rachel and I drove to the Oregon Coast. Traffic was a light as I’ve ever seen it - we went long stretches without seeing any other cars, which is unusual.
This is one of the first cars we ran into, and was quite suprised to see it. I didn’t even know that this car was out yet - a 2006 Lotus Exige, the hardtop model of the Lotus Elise. Small, light, and fast, this is probably the most “pure” sports car you can buy today for under $50,000.
As you may or may not have guessed, in addition to other things I’m geeky about, I’m also a sports car geek.

Yummy Lotus. I should carry a camera for cool cars aswell. In the last week i have seen a Ferrari F430 (black), numerous Mercedes CLS’s and a Bentley Continental.

Though I’d perfer something closer to a MR2 Spyder, but of course those are out of production.
Actually the car is an Elise with an optional hardtop. 2006 Exige cars are just now being delivered. The car shown doesn’t have a wing, one obvious difference. And black wheels are standard on the Exige. Actually the 2 cars share only the doors as far as the body is concerned.
