Maybe Microsoft needs a "Bancroft". If Boeing's chief salesman spends time blogging with far fewer customers than Intel, I say full speed ahead!
http://www.boeing.com/randy/about.html

Josh,

It is relatively easy to disagree when you snip half of my post away. The way you write it even I disagree with myself.

Maybe you can become a Scoble afterall! :-)

I didn't want to repost your post without permission, Jack. I wasn't trying to slant the issue, just get the crux of what I thought you were saying. :-)

Excellent post, Josh. Points well taken. And maybe Jack is forgetting that talent may be the number one success factor for companies (Rise- and Flight of the Creative Class). Attracting that talent and inspiring their teamwork, creativity and productivity should be at the top or close to the top of Intel's priority list even if the firm is primarily BtoB. Blogging is exactly the right tool to put a human face on Intel. It could also help for things like environmental issues, for example. You go, Josh!

I think Intel should try to open to the blogosphere somehow, but it will still take a while and require a lot of work and discussion on how to do it. I'm aware of approx 10-15 other Intel employees running an external blog, may be one of them will beIntel's Scoble. And finally despite of what I said above a few personal thoughts about the new logo and tagline. I've been with Intel for almost 11 years now, it's a little bit strange to see the old logos go after all those years. Especially because I've worked in
