iWork 09 is a yawn, but the “Keynote Remote” iPhone/iPod Touch app seems really cool. #
Mac Box Set - Leopard, iLife, and iWork for $169. But why? Who, besides Tiger users, would buy that? Unless they’re opening up to all hw… #
iWork.com looks like just an online document exchange. More like SharePoint than Google Docs. You can upload, view, download, but not edit. #
Wow. The new 17″ MBP really does have a non-user-replaceable battery. Lithium Polymer, 40% bigger, claim 8 hours. Interesting. #
By the end of this quarter, ALL 10 million songs in iTunes will be available DRM free. w00t! #
Heh. Tony Bennett ends the Apple keynote in SF. Take that, show in Las Vegas! #
There was some pretty hilarious/unfortunate ad placement from Gawker on live.gizmodo.com during the Apple keynote: http://tinyurl.com/7d4nej#
Reading @clint’s “super in-depth hands-on + first impressions of iPhoto ‘09: http://ping.fm/u8L2A #mwsf” #
@MCP85 Good question. If you’re SQL DB can eat RSS/XML, then probably yes. Each panel is just an RSS feed. I can give an OPML of all of them in reply to MCP85#
iTunes “upgrade all your songs to DRM free” feature is based on purchase history. You can get back song files you’ve lost/deleted. #
iTunes has never let you re-download a song after purchased. This seems to be a (one time?) way replace lost songs http://tinyurl.com/9le9z9#
@davidhoenig Intel discount on Clearwire WiMAX looks pretty good, but I wish it didn’t require a 2 year contract. A friend has it, it rocks. in reply to davidhoenig#
I think I’ve fallen in love with the new 17″ MacBook Pro. All those inches! Pixels! Gigabytes and gigahertz and battery hours! #
Finally getting around to upgrading my multitude of sites to WordPress 2.7. Me = slacker. #
Just grabbed the 2.0 update to the Pandora iPhone app. Some nice improvements, access to a lot more artist and song info I think. Go get it. #
@jmartens What EeePC accessories are you looking for? Mice? Drives? Bags? I don’t know of a single site, but I have suggestions. Lemme know. in reply to Jmartens#
@betsywhim No, I was adamant that the vacuum was NOT a Christmas gift. Just a household purchase that happened to come at Christmastime. in reply to betsywhim#
@betsywhim I’m pretty dumb, but even *I* know better than to give housecleaning implements as gifts to my wife. in reply to betsywhim#
(via jkontherun) HP releases the Mini 2140 netbook. Fixed the slow 1.8″ HD of the 1000, kept the 1354×768 screen res of the 2133, went Atom. #
Plus the gorgeous aluminum design. On paper, I think the HP Mini 2140 is my new “most wanted” netbook. Starts at $499. Rawr. #
Just played some Guitar Hero with my neice and nephew. They rock! #
@Jerry_Makare Yeah, the SHO appears to be coming back in 2010. Dunno if I would give up my WRX for it, though. My 94 SHO is just a beater. in reply to Jerry_Makare#
@verso SHO = Ford Taurus SHO (Super High Output). 1st and 2nd gen had a sports car engine built by Yamaha. in reply to verso#
Reading Offworld costs me money. Just bought Zephyr (draw snow pictures, same world social features as Ocarina) and Passage for iPhone. #
Puzzle Quest, which I love, is finally out for iPhone, but at $10 for the first episode (1/3 of the game), I think I’ll pass for now. #
@Jmartens I’m waiting for packages from both UPS and FedEx, Haven’t moved in a week. Methinks it will be a while before they catch up. in reply to Jmartens#
@MCP85 yeah, I heard something about a space themed Puzzle Quest game. Should be fun. in reply to MCP85#
Just blew a tire at Cottage Grove in our way to Medford. Had fun changing it on the side of I-5 in the rain. At Les Schwab now… #
And since my car is AWD, it needs 4 new tires instead of one (it was about due anyway). That was $600 I wasn’t planning on spending today. #
Gabe is in heaven at Les Schwab. Running around like a fool shouting “weeel! weeel!” He’s entertaining the staff. And there’s wifi. #
@Jmartens You can give any KGW people that don’t already have my name my name. I’d love to talk to them, anytime. in reply to Jmartens#
Stopped for potty break and food in Grant’s Pass. Almost to Medford! New tires working great. Glad the roads are clear, though. #
@chrisorourke Biggest Crocs store I’ve ever seen was in the Super Brand Mall in Shanghai. I felt like a minor celebrity when I walked in. in reply to chrisorourke#
Tweetree needs a mobile version. It’s a heavy web page, like twitter.com, and slow on my iPhone. Tweetie has me spoiled for speed. #
I need to compare and contrast Tweetree and FriendFeed. The thing I like about both are similar. Need to suss out the differences. #
@hangry You guys drove home through the Gorge? Wow. Glad you made it safely! That place has been the maw of frozen Hell lately. in reply to hangry#
@JenFloyd08 OpenID is free. It’s a standard. There are tons of providers. The WP-OpenID plugin is free. but I have had bad luck with it. in reply to JenFloyd08#
@fraying My wife got me a sub (the geek special) to Fray for Christmas. Good stuff. Weird that the issues are totally different sizes, tho. in reply to fraying#
@fraying Makes me wonder what the form factor of Issue 3 will be. Seriously, though, love your stuff, loved JPG before, you know… in reply to fraying#
You’re kidding right
It’s a reference to a bit of humor that just went down at Gnomedex. . .
It’s probably in regards to “The Hive”.
“The Hive is aimed at online leaders who specialize in consumer-oriented applications of Windows and other Microsoft technologies”
