So it seems the newest MyDoom virus variant searches Google (and other search engines) for email addresses to send itself to. This has resulted in some problems for Google:

I feel like a part of my brain is unavailable. I’m pretty sure this is one of the signs of the Apocalypse, so I’ll be hiding under my desk if you need me…

So what could a scammer actually do if they phished your Twitter password? Spam your friends? Read your DMs? Doesn’t seem very lucrative. #

It seems that one wouldn’t have to compromise a Twitter account to see who follows, then phish. Though they’d have to figure out emails. #
Just answered my own question. They’re real DMs, not fake emails. Which would require a compromised acct. So sorry, @evacatherder! #

This Twitter phishing thing is purely social, right? No tech exploits. So how would the tech solutions being suggested (OAuth, etc) help? #
There is no fix for social attacks beyond education and careful security practices on EVERYONE’s part, says I. #

Reading Offworld costs me money. Just bought Zephyr (draw snow pictures, same world social features as Ocarina) and Passage for iPhone. #
Puzzle Quest, which I love, is finally out for iPhone, but at $10 for the first episode (1/3 of the game), I think I’ll pass for now. #
